He’s been turning up in front of the camera since his early teens, but although he had a recurring role on the CBC series Heartland from 2007 to 2008, Beau Mirchoff likely appeared on most people’s radar when he joined the cast of Desperate Housewives in 2009, playing son to Drea de Matteo and Jeffrey Nordling throughout the series’ sixth season. Since then, Mirchoff’s profile has gotten a significant boost as a result of his status as a series regular on MTV’s Awkward– Matty McKibben, ladies and gentlemen – but he’s also continued to dabble in feature films as well, most recently turning up in Poker Night, where he had the opportunity to mix it up in a cast featuring such heavyweights as Ron Perlman, Giancarlo Esposito, and Titus Welliver.
